AFC Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur meet at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, 4th May and Spurs need to be sure of a win.
AFC Bournemouth are hosting Tottenham Hotspur at the Vitality Stadium this weekend and Spurs need to make sure of a win. Spurs are currently third in the table with 70 points, and they are just two points above Chelsea and four above Arsenal. If they drop any points then there is a risk of them missing out on a top four finish.
Bournemouth have had a few disappointing results recently, losing to Fulham and Burnley, but drew with Southampton last weekend. Spurs suffered their first home defeat in their new stadium last weekend, losing to West Ham, but they have enjoyed good results in the Champions League and generally been in far better form than Bournemouth this season.
The teams last played in October last year and Spurs won that game 5 – 0. Before that, they played in March 2018 and Spurs won that game 1 – 4. In fact, the only time that Bournemouth have defeated Spurs was the first time that the teams played, back in 1957. Since then Bournemouth’s best result was a goalless draw in 2016.
