Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester City: A Final Push for City

12.05.2019, Finished at The American Express Community Stadium

12:07, 08 May 2019

Brighton & Hove and Manchester City meet at the American Express Community Stadium on Sunday, 12th May for the final game of the season.

Brighton & Hove Albion are hosting Manchester City at The American Express Community Stadium this weekend for the final game of the season. After a fantastic season, the title race has come down to this final game, with Manchester City needing the full three points to guarantee winning the league. Liverpool are just one point behind and will be taking on Wolves at the same time.

While there is a lot of pressure on Manchester City, they are certainly in better form than Brighton & Hove. Brighton have drawn a number of recent games, against Arsenal, Newcastle and Wolves, but they haven’t won a game in a long while and only recently ensured that they won’t be relegated. City have of course been excellent in recent weeks and they have won all of their recent games.

The teams played last month in the FA Cup and Manchester City won that game 1 – 0. Before that, they played twice in 2018 with Manchester City winning both games, and once in August 2017, with City winning that game as well. The last time that Brighton beat City was in September 2008.
