Burkina Faso welcome Cape Verde for a CAF region Group D third round World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, November 14. The hosts will be looking to collect another three points from their opponents after comfortably seeing them off 2-0 in last November’s first leg. Both teams are locked on six points after five rounds of play.
Burkinabe come into this on the back of a 3-1 loss to South Africa in last month’s internationals. This match will be heavily determined by the result of Saturday’s match between South Africa and Senegal. If South Africa win that replay, only two points will separate all sides on the last day of qualification and everyone will have a chance. Bertrand Traore is Burkina Faso’s star attraction.
Cape Verde lost 2-0 to Senegal in October, but had displayed a good capability in the previous round as they beat South Africa 2-1 in each leg. Heldon Ramos in midfield and Ryan Mendes in attack will be their key players.
