Caen and Bordeaux meet at the Stade Michel d’Ornano on Friday, 24th May for the final game of the season.
Caen are hosting Bordeaux at the Stade Michel d’Ornano on Friday for the final game of the Ligue 1 season. Caen are currently eighteenth in the league and facing the relegation play-offs, but they are two points below Amiens SC so a victory could move them out of the danger zone.
Caen have had some good results recently. While they lost to Olympique Lyon last week, they went a number of games before that without defeat, winning against Reims, Dijon and Nice, and drawing with Guingamp. Bordeaux have been struggling recently, they have lost their last five games, against Reims, Lille, Angers, Lyon and Nimes, and while they are safe from relegation, they are certainly lacking form.
The teams last played in November last year and the game ended in a goalless draw. Before that, they played in January 2018 with Caen winning the game 0 – 2. Overall, they have a fairly balanced history, but Caen will come to this match with the home advantage and highly motivated, and this could give them an edge.
