Canada and New Zealand will play their next Women’s World Cup 2019 group game on Saturday, 15th June at the Stade Des Alpes.
Canada and New Zealand will play each other on Saturday in their next Women’s World Cup 2019 group game. Canada have come to the tournament ranked fifth in the FIFA World Rankings, just 37 points below France. New Zealand are nineteenth in the rankings, 13 points below Switzerland.
Canada have enjoyed excellent form this year and are yet to lose a game. They defeated Sweden on penalties to come third in the Algarve Cup and since then they have defeated England, Nigeria, and Mexico and they have drawn with Spain. It has also been a good year for New Zealand; they have defeated Norway, Mexico and England, but lost to the United States and Wales.
The teams have played each other once before, in the Women’s World Cup in 2015, and the game ended in a goalless draw. This year both teams have played Mexico and won, and they have also both defeated England. Judging by the statistics, it should be a very close and exciting match.
