Cardiff City and Liverpool meet at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday, 21st April and the game could be a welcome change of pace for Liverpool.
Cardiff City are hosting Liverpool at the Cardiff City Stadium this weekend and the game could be a very welcome break for Liverpool. The Reds have had a number of tough matches in recent weeks, in the Premier League and the Champions League, and they can’t afford to slip up if they are going to keep their title hopes alive. However, Cardiff City are far easier opposition than they have recently faced.
Cardiff City are currently battling to avoid relegation but they have lost their last three matches in a row, against Burnley, Manchester City and Chelsea, and won just eight matches all season. Liverpool have been in fine form recently defeating Chelsea 2 – 0 last weekend, defeating Porto in the Champions League before that, and have not lost a match in a long while.
The teams last played in October 2018 and Liverpool won 4 – 1. Liverpool also won their last four meetings before that, dating back to 2007. The teams did not play each other between 1959 and 2007, but based upon the last twelve years, Liverpool should be relatively confident going into this game.
