Croatia and Wales will play each other on Saturday in their next Euro 2020 qualifying match. Croatia are currently third in Group E having played two games, of which they won one and lost the other. Wales have played just one match so far, which they won, and they are currently second in the group. As a result, the winner of this match could move top of the table.
Croatia lost their last game, 2 – 1 to Hungary, and before that they defeated Azerbaijan 2 – 1. After the World Cup last year they lost 2 – 1 to England, but defeated Spain and Jordan. In March this year Wales defeated Slovakia and Trinidad and Tobago, in November last year they lost to Albania and Denmark, but they defeated the Republic of Ireland in October.
The teams have played each other just four times in the past. Most recently was in 2013 when Croatia won 1 – 2. Before that they played in 2012 and Croatia won 2 – 0, and Croatia won by the same score line in 2010. In 2002 they drew 1 – 1.
