The Czech Republic are currently second in Group A with 9 points having played 5 games of which they have won 3 and lost 2. England are top of the group with 12 points having played 4 games and won all 4.

The Czech Republic won their last game 0 – 3 against Montenegro but lost the game before that 2 – 1 to Kosovo. Before that they defeated Montenegro in a home game and also enjoyed a 2 – 1 win over Bulgaria. England have won their last three games, most recently defeating Kosovo 5 – 3 and before that Bulgaria 4 – 0. They also recently defeated Switzerland on penalties but lost the game before 3 – 1 to the Netherlands.

The teams have played just three times in the past. Most recently was in March this year when England won 5 – 0. Before that they played in August 2008 and the game ended in a 2 – 2 draw, and England won their first match 2 – 0 back in 1998.
