Dynamo Kyiv hosts Astana, on September 20, for the first match in the Europa League group stage. Both teams approach not in their best shape the beginning of the elite continental competition. The Ukrainian squad plays beyond expectations in the National Premiere League, with a 0-2 loss against Karpaty Lviv, on September 2, and a match against FC Zorya, on September 16, where they scored a goal, but reaped, only, a burdensome draw, in the end. The team staff hopes that the players will manage to reach their peak performance to the match, counting a lot on the promising attackers: Artem Basyedin and Nazariy Rusyn.
On the other side, Astana registered only one win in the last five games, against Apoel in the Europa League qualifiers' play off, which gave them the ticket to the groups. The Kazakh team proved their value, reaching the third round of Champions League Qualifying, being kicked out by Dinamo Zagreb, with an overall 3-0.
Regardless of living not the best times, the two Soviet school teams, are motivated to show an entertaining clash on the pitch, striving to get the first points in the prestigious European tournament. Dynamo is likely to get the leading role in the match, but Astana will definitely not retrieve, and try to win against all odds.
