Hertha BSC and Bayer Leverkusen meet at the Olympiastadion on Saturday, 18th May for the final game of the season.
Hertha BSC are hosting Bayer Leverkusen at the Olympiastadion on Saturday for the final game of the Bundesliga season. This is a crucial game for Bayer; they are in fifth place and tied for points with fourth-placed Borussia Monchengladbach. A win could see them finish fourth in the league as Monchengladbach have the difficult task of defeating Borussia Dortmund in their final game.
Hertha BSC have not had the best season but recent weeks have seen them produce some good results. They have recently defeated Augsburg and Stuttgart, and before that they drew with Eintracht Frankfurt and Hannover 96. Bayern Leverkusen have also produced a number of good results recently, they drew with Schalke last weekend and in the weeks before defeated Eintracht Frankfurt, Augsburg, Nurnberg and Stuttgart.
The teams last played in December last year and Leverkusen won the game 3 – 1. Hertha BSC won their prior match 0 – 2 and the game before that 2 – 1. The teams have a fairly balanced history but Leverkusen will have the extra motivation going into this match and that could tip things their way.
