Jamaica and Italy will play their next Women’s World Cup 2019 group game on Friday, 14th June at the Stade Auguste-Delaune.
Jamaica and Italy will play each other on Friday in their next Women’s World Cup 2019 group game. Jamaica lost their opening game against Brazil 3 – 0, leaving them at the bottom of the group. Italy won their first game 1 – 2 against Australia and they are second in the group, below Brazil on goal difference.
Prior to the World Cup Jamaica had a number of good results. They defeated Chile 3 – 2, Panama 3 – 1, and drew 1 – 1 with South Africa. Their only loss was 3 – 2 to Scotland in May. Italy lost on penalties to Korea in the Cyprus Women’s Cup but since then they have draw with Poland, and defeated the Republic of Ireland, Switzerland and Australia.
This is the first time that these teams have played each other and they haven’t had any common opponents recently. Jamaica will be hoping to earn some points and escape the bottom of the table, but given Italy’s form this year, it seems likely that they will end the match disappointed.
