Japan and Scotland will play their next Women’s World Cup 2019 group game on Friday, 14th June at the Roazhon Park.
Japan and Scotland will play each other on Friday in their next Women’s World Cup 2019 group game. Scotland lost their opening game putting them at the bottom of the group while Japan are yet to play their first match. England are currently top of the group with 3 points, so a win for either team would be significant.
Japan drew two games in recent months, with Spain and Germany, before which they lost to France and England. Their only victory this year was a win over Brazil in March. Until their opening game, Scotland were enjoying better results. So far this year they have defeated Jamaica, Brazil and Denmark and they drew with Chile.
This is the first time that the teams have faced each other and they will be eager to make their mark. The only common opponent they’ve faced in recent months is England, Japan lost 0 – 3 to England in a friendly in March while Scotland lost 2 – 1 to England earlier this week.
