Liverpooland Burnley meet at Anfield on Sunday, 10th March and the hosts are sure to befeeling confident ahead of it.
Liverpool have slipped to second place in the league after drawing with Everton last week and they cannot afford to drop any more points if they are going to have a chance of winning the title. Burnley are also suffering at the moment, having lost their last two games and falling closer to the bottom three.
The Reds have been playing excellent football all season, but in recent weeks they have started drawing a number of matches and this is what has cost them the top spot. Burnley have had a mixed season with very varied results, but they will be disappointed with their 1 – 3 loss to Crystal Palace last weekend.
Burnley last defeated Liverpool in August 2016, when they won 2 – 0, but they have overcome the Reds just four times since 1975. Liverpool have won their last two meetings, both of which were last year. While Liverpool have reason to be the more nervous team, they should still be very confident ahead of this game.
