Liverpool and Leicester City will play the eighth match of the Premier League season on Saturday, 5th October at Anfield.
Liverpool and Leicester City meet this weekend at Anfield for the eighth match of the Premier League season. Liverpool are top of the league with 21 points after a perfect start to the season with seven victories. Leicester City are third in the league with 14 points having won 4 games, drawn 2 and lost 1.
In recent weeks Liverpool have enjoyed league victories over Sheffield United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Burnley, Arsenal, Southampton and Norwich City. They have also defeated MK Dons in the Football League Cup but they did lose their opening Champions League game 2 – 0 to Napoli. Last weekend Leicester City demolished Newcastle United 5 – 0 and this came after a 2 – 1 win over Spurs the week before. They have also enjoyed victory over Bournemouth, but they lost 1 – 0 to Manchester United early in September.
The teams last played in January this year and the game ended in a 1 – 1 draw. Liverpool won their previous three encounters and Leicester’s last win was 2 – 0 back in September 2017. Liverpool have the home advantage here, but there is definitely more pressure on them than on their visitors.
