Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers meet at Anfield on Sunday, 12th May for the final game of the season.
Liverpool are hosting the Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield this weekend for the final game of the season. Liverpool have been fantastic in recent weeks at keeping the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the league. While this game takes place City will be playing Brighton, and if City don’t win their game then a victory here for Liverpool would see them win the league.
The pressure in this game is of course on Liverpool, but they have shown time and time again that they are capable of rising to the occasion. They were fantastic in their 2 – 3 win over Newcastle last weekend, and while they have had some Champions League disappointment, they have not put a foot wrong domestically for quite some time. The Wolverhampton Wanderers have also been impressive this season, defeating a number of top teams, and they will not be easy opponents.
The teams played in January in the FA Cup and Wolverhampton Wanderers won that game 2 – 1. Before that, they played in December 2018 and Liverpool won 0 – 2. All of this suggests that this could be a hugely exciting end to the season.
