Swiss Super League side Lugano welcome Israeli outfit Hapoel Beer Sheva to the Swissporarena for Uefa Europa League Group G fifth round action on Thursday. Both sides sit outside qualifying places, but any of them could still get back in the running with a win.
The hosts are bottom with three points, but could go level with second placed Plzen if the latter lose to leaders Steaua Bucharest. They come into this on the back of a 4-1 round 4 whipping by the same Plzen. Davide Mariami will be their key player as they put in their best shift and hope luck goes their way in the other group match.
Beer Sheva re two points outside the top two spots, and will also fancy their chances with a convincing win. They drew 1-1 with leaders Bucharest in the fourth round thanks to a Ben Sahar 37th minute equalizer. They showed a strong performance in that match; a similar display would definitely earn them maximum points in this one. Sahar will again be actively involved in this one.
