Manchester City vs Arsenal: City out to restore race after Newcastle loss

03.02.2019, Finished at Etihad Stadium

21:32, 01 Feb 2019

Man City will look to quickly put Tuesday’s loss to Newcastle when they host Arsenal for the 25th round of the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. The Citizens had given Liverpool a chance to extend the lead at the top after losing on Tuesday, but the Reds squandered that chance after drawing 1-1 with Leicester.

City will want to quickly change that narrative as they come up against another side that loves possession as much as they do. They will look to exploit Arsenal’s weakness in defence using Raheem Sterling’s pace.

Arsenal, 2-1 winners over Cardiff in midweek, will look to limit City’s attacking by going for goals themselves. They will start with either of Aubameyang or Lacazette looking to keep the defence of City at bay. The Gunners lost 2-0 at the Emirates in the reverse fixture. Manager Unai Emery has had a better feel of the premier league now and will be hoping he can complete one over Pep Guardiola in this fixture.
