Newcastle return to their St. James Park homeground for the 12th round of the Premier League where they welcome Bournemouth on Saturday. Rafael Benitez’s side will be looking for just their second win this season as they struggle to get a run of results that matches their performances.
They will be coming from a goalless draw with Southampton, a result that left them in 17th position with six points. In all eleven games played, the team has showed flashes of brilliance but has just lacked that edge to bag maximum points. They have not lost any league game by more than a one-goal margin and could be real contenders against a good Bournemouth side.
Eddie Howe’s side will be looking to bounce back from a 2-1 loss against Manchester last weekend. Anthony Martial cancelled out Calum Wilson’s early opener before Marcus Rashford grabbed a stoppage time winner to inflict a third loss of the season. They are sixth with 20 points. Wilson will be the key threat although they have a variety of goal scorers in the likes of Steve Cook, Joshua King and Junior Stanislas.
