Newcastle’s return to the premier league once looked like the perfect course for the Magpies to build on the experiences learned staying up and going down by the years.
They managed that pretty well last season, but are looking dangerously close to the edge so far in 2019/19. They now sit a point from rock bottom and will be very afraid, especially in view of the fact that they let a win slip from their fingers in the last game. Having led Manchester United 2-0 in the first 70 minutes, they allowed that advantage to be wiped out in a 20-minute blitz that saw united come back from the dead to take all 3 points. The Magpies must be keen to erase that memory and fight to escape the bottom slots.
Brighton are sitting 13th in the league with 8 points, having picked up 3 in the last duel at home to West Ham. They will be ferocious opponents to come up against, and Newcastle had better be aware of that.
