Norwich City and Chelsea will play the third match of the Premier League season on Saturday, 24th August at Carrow Road.
Norwich City and Chelsea meet this weekend at Carrow Road for the third match of the Premier League season. Chelsea will be looking to improve upon their poor start to the season while Norwich City will likely be eager to take on one of the giants of the league on their home ground.
Norwich City began the season with a 4 – 1 loss away to Liverpool but they then defeated Newcastle United 3 – 1 at home in the second game. This has left them eleventh in the table and they are probably reasonably happy with their start to life in the Premier League. It has been a different story for Chelsea, they lost their first game 4 – 0 to Manchester United and drew their second at home with Leicester City 1 – 1, and in between, they lost the Super Cup to Liverpool on penalties.
Since 2005 the teams have played each other 12 times, most recently in January 2018 in the FA Cup when Chelsea won 6 – 4. Norwich City has not managed to win any of the games, but three of those games have ended in draws. Norwich would probably be very happy with another draw but anything less than a win would be a disaster for Chelsea.
