Norwich City and Manchester City will play the fifth match of the Premier League season on Saturday, 14th September at Carrow Road.
Norwich City and Manchester City meet this weekend at Carrow Road for the fifth match of the Premier League season. While Manchester City have not had a perfect start to the season, they will still be feeling confident ahead of facing the newly promoted Norwich City.
Norwich City suffered a 4 – 1 defeat to Liverpool in their first match back in the Premier League. They then defeated Newcastle 3 – 1, but since then have lost 2 – 0 to West Ham United and 2 – 3 to Chelsea. They also lost to Crawley Town in the Football League Cup. Manchester City started the season with an emphatic 5 – 0 win over West Ham, but they were then held to a 2 – 2 draw at home by Spurs. Since then, they have defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 4 – 0 and AFC Bournemouth 1 – 3.
The teams have not played very often in recent years. They last faced each other when Norwich City was last in the Premier League, in March 2016, and that game ended in a goalless draw. Before that, Manchester City defeated Norwich 0 – 3 in the FA Cup. The last time Norwich defeated Manchester City was back in May 2013 when they won 2 – 3.
