Nottingham Forest v Arsenal: Porous defence greatest weakness for sharp Forest

06:16, 19 Sep 2016

Nottingham Forest host Arsenal in the third round of the League Cup at their City Ground on Tuesday 20th September. The Championship side are little favoured going into the match, but have been on great scoring form of late, with more than one goal in their last three outings.

They even put four past Wigan. Britt Assombalonga has had a great scoring season, reaching the three-goal mark by 23rd August, same as Oliver Burke. The two will be the main men against the premier league bigwigs.

Forest have however been just as porous at the back, failing to keep a clean sheet in any of the last three matches. This may be their main undoing against Arsenal, who have seen their strike force start with vigour, and goals coming from all departments. Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott are particularly on a rich vein of form, while Giroud is showing signs of catching on after his full return. Options are many upfront, with new striker lucas Perez also up for action
