PSG vs St. Etienne: Ligue One champs out to retain early season momentum

06:34, 10 Sep 2018

Ligue One defending Champions and current leaders PSG welcome St. Etienne to the Parc Des Princes for the fifth round of the 2018/19 season on Friday. The hosts have had a perfect start to the season under new coach Thomas Tuchel and will be looking to retain the same momentum as they resume after the interlull.

They signed off with a 4-2 win over newcomers Nimes on the road, their goals coming from the devastating forward quartet of Neymar, Cavani, Kyliann Mbappe and Di Maria. They however lost Mbappe to a 94th minute red card and will miss his services in this match.

St. Etienne are fully aware of the task at hand and will be comfortable to soak up the pressure before looking to hurt PSG on the counter. They have drawn three matches on the trot and currently sit ninth with six points. Defender Neven Subotic will be returning from a red card suspension at a time of great need.
