Serbia and Portugal will play their next Euro 2020 qualifying game on Saturday, 7th September at the Red Star Stadium.
Serbia and Portugal will play each other on Saturday in their next Euro 2020 qualifying match. Serbia are currently third in Group B having played three games, of which they have won one, drawn one and lost the other. Portugal are fourth in the group having played just two games, both of which they have drawn.
Serbia have been having a good year, they drew with Germany 1 – 1 in March, and with Portugal in the reverse fixture. They then lost 5 – 0 to Ukraine before defeating Lithuania 4 – 1 in June. Portugal have also been having a good year. They drew with Ukraine in March but then went on to defeat Switzerland in the Nations League semi-final and then the Netherlands in the final.
The teams have played five times since 2007, Portugal has won two of the games and the other three have ended in draws. Given the huge difference in the teams’ rankings, Portugal is currently sixth in the world while Serbia is thirty-fifth, the hosts would likely be happy if they can produce another draw.
Which game will you be watching tonight from all the European Qualifiers? I’m going for Serbia - Portugal. Dusan Tadic will play and I want to see João Félix for Portugal.— AFC Ajax 💎 (@TheEuropeanLad) 7 בספטמבר 2019
Their group is interesting as well, a loss for Portugal tonight would be really unpleasant for them. pic.twitter.com/zGujKUNUIo
