Sheffield United and Liverpool will play the seventh match of the Premier League season on Saturday, 28th September at Bramall Lane.
Sheffield United and Liverpool meet this weekend at Bramall Lane for the seventh match of the Premier League season. Sheffield United are currently tenth in the league with 8 points having won 2 games, drawn 2, and lost 2. Liverpool are top of the league with 18 points having won all six games so far.
Last week Sheffield United impressed with a 0 – 2 away win over Everton. The week before that they lost to Southampton while prior to that, they drew with Chelsea. The team has made a strong start to life in the Premier League, but this week face one of the league’s top teams. Liverpool slipped up in the Champions League, losing 2 – 0 to Napoli, but they been dominant in the Premier League with victories over teams including Chelsea, Arsenal, Burnley and Southampton.
Sheffield United have not been in the Premier League for a very long time so it has been a while since these teams played each other. Their last meeting was in February 2007 and Liverpool won 4 – 0 while prior to that they drew 1 – 1 in August 2006. Sheffield did defeat Liverpool in 2003, but it seems unlikely that they will manage to do so again this weekend.
