SwanseaCity and Manchester City meet at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday, 16th March inthe FA Cup quarterfinals.
Swansea City have reached the FA Cup quarterfinals after defeating Brentford 4 – 1 in the last round while Manchester City saw off Newport County 1 – 4. Now Swansea City face a truly difficult test against the Premier League leaders as they try to reach the semi-finals.
Swansea are currently in the EFL Championship and have been struggling. They are fifteenth in the league, and they have lost many of their recent matches. By contrast, Manchester City are at the top of the Premier League and have not lost a match in a very long time, most recently defeating Watford 3 – 1.
The teams have not played each other since April last year, and Manchester City won the game 5 – 0. Before that they played in December 2017 and Manchester City won 0 – 4. Swansea have not defeated Manchester City since 2012, and based upon the teams’ respective forms, it seems unlikely that they will do so this time.
