Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool will play the Champions League final on Saturday, 1st June at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
This weekend Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool will meet in the Champions League final at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid. After both teams made remarkable comebacks in the semi-finals, this promises to be a hugely exciting match. Spurs came back against Ajax in the second leg to level the match 3 – 3 and go through on away goals. Liverpool fell 3 – 0 behind to Barcelona in their semi-final before winning the second leg 4 – 0 to reach the final.
Since that remarkable game, Tottenham Hotspur have played just one match, their final Premier League game of the season, which ended in a 2 – 2 draw with Everton. Liverpool have also played just once and ended their domestic season with a 2 – 0 win over Wolverhampton. Both teams have had a few weeks to rest and should be coming into this match at full fitness.
The teams have of course played each other numerous times over the years. They last played in March and Liverpool won the game 2 – 1, before that, they played in September last year and Liverpool won that game 1 – 2. The last time Spurs defeated Liverpool was 4 – 1 back in October 2017.
