United States vs Trinidad and Tobago: A Relaxed Game for the USA

The United States and Trinidad and Tobago will play in the group stage of the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Sunday, 23rd June at the First Energy Stadium. 

The United States and Trinidad and Tobago will play on Sunday in the next group stage game of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The USA are likely to be feeling confident ahead of this match, they are ranked thirtieth in the world while Trinidad and Tobago are more than sixty places lower at ninety-two.

Leading up to the tournament the United States had some disappointing results, they lost 0 – 3 to Venezuela and 0 – 1 to Jamaica. However, before that they drew with Chile, and defeated both Ecuador and Costa Rica. Trinidad and Tobago drew with Japan last month, but before that they lost to Wales, Iran and Thailand. Their last win was over the UAE in September last year.

The teams last played in October 2017 and Trinidad and Tobago won 2 – 1. Before that they played in June 2017 and the USA won 2 – 0, the USA also won 4 – 0 in September 2016. Since 1982, the teams have played 26 times, the USA have won 18 of those, they lost 4 and they drew 4.
