Valencia welcome Barcelona to the Mestalla Stadium for the return leg of their Copa Del Rey semi-final on Thursday. Marcelino Garcia’s side will look to capitalize on the home atmosphere to overturn a 1-0 deficit suffered at the Camp Nou in the first leg a week earlier.
They will be under no illusion regards the enormity of the task at hand, knowing fully well they have to defend as much as they need to attack. The squad that played in the first leg will remain pretty much unchanged, with Simone Zaza the only likely new name in the starting XI.
Barcelona’s resilience allowed them to crack a stubborn Valencia with a 67th minute goal and will look to complete the job early in the second leg. Coming from a league trip to Espanyol, Ernesto Valverde may want to rotate his squad a bit, probably bringing in Philippe Coutinho to get some more minutes under his belt as they look to make a penultimate step to the first silverware of the season.
